Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 20, 2026 · Poodle Ventures, LLC
The short version: We collect your email address, the dog profile information you enter, and any photos you choose to upload. We use it only to run the app. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or send you marketing emails. If you use the kibble label photo feature, that image is sent to Anthropic's AI for text extraction and is not stored by us afterwards.
1. Who we are
Bone to Bowl is operated by Poodle Ventures, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a US-based company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Bone to Bowl at bonetobowl.com.
This service is intended for users located in the United States.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information: Your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth) when you create an account.
- Dog profiles: Information you enter about your dog — name, breed, age, weight, activity level, health conditions, food preferences, and dietary needs.
- Kibble information: Brand name, calorie content, and guaranteed analysis percentages you enter or extract from your kibble bag.
- Pet photos (optional): Profile photos you upload for your dog. These are stored in cloud storage and associated with your account.
- Kibble label photos (optional, not stored): If you use the nutrition label photo feature, your photo is compressed and sent to Anthropic's AI for text extraction. We do not store this image after processing.
- Saved recipes: Recipes you choose to save within the app.
- Digestion logs: Stool quality ratings you log in the digestion tracker.
- Usage and analytics data: Basic information about how you use the app — such as features accessed, recipes generated, and session activity — collected automatically via PostHog to help us understand and improve the service. PostHog's privacy practices are available at posthog.com/privacy.
- Browser local storage: If you use the app as a guest without creating an account, your dog profile, saved recipes, and session state are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers and remains under your control.
- Payment data: When you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. Bone to Bowl does not store your credit card number, expiry date, or CVV. We receive and store only a Stripe customer identifier and subscription status to manage your account access.
3. How we use your information
We use your information solely to:
- Provide and operate the Bone to Bowl service
- Sync your dog profiles and saved recipes across devices when you are signed in
- Generate AI-powered meal plans using the information you provide about your dog
- Send you transactional and service-related emails — such as account confirmation, beta check-in messages, and subscription notifications. We do not send marketing or promotional emails to third parties, and we do not share your email address with advertisers.
- Maintain, improve, and troubleshoot the service using anonymised analytics data
4. AI-generated content and image processing
Bone to Bowl uses Claude, an AI service operated by Anthropic, PBC, to generate meal plans. When you generate a recipe, information about your dog (breed, age, weight, health conditions, food preferences) is sent to Anthropic's API to produce a response. This information is used only to generate the recipe and is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
When you use the kibble nutrition label photo feature, your photo is compressed on your device and then sent to Anthropic's API for visual text extraction. The image is used only to read the guaranteed analysis panel and is not stored by us after processing. Anthropic's handling of this image is governed by their Privacy Policy linked above.
Nutrient data is sourced from the USDA FoodData Central database, a public government resource. No personal information is sent to USDA.
5. How we store your information
Account data, dog profiles, saved recipes, and digestion logs are stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider based in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. You can read Supabase's privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy.
Pet profile photos you upload are stored in Supabase Storage, also encrypted in transit and at rest, and are accessible only through your account. Kibble label photos are not stored by us — they are processed transiently and discarded.
6. Information sharing
